Le Capitaine is a popular restaurant in Grand Baie on Royal Road. The restaurant is famous for delicious fresh fish and seafood, cooked to perfection. It is a great restaurant with beautiful ambience on the beach with the sea breeze and ocean view. It’s a very cozy restaurant on the water opposite Ocean Villas from the bay with commendable authentic Creole dishes served in style.

Le Capitaine is renowned for its seafood and their specialties include seafood broth, steamed rosenberghi, palmheart salad, fresh crabs, lobster and fishes a la Creole, whole crab cooked in white wine, and lobster ravioli with fresh mushroom and cucumber quenelle. The menu also extends to include Oriental delicacies.

If you love to watch sunset then you have to go slightly early before sunset to Le Capitaine restaurant to grab a table of your choice, since it overlooks a harbor and a stretch of land on the other side, behind which the sun sets. It’s really beautiful to watch it from your table while enjoying your dinner with live music.

The fish & lobster are excellent at this restaurant. The service is a bit slow. Prices are mid-ranged, but worth it. The staff in this restaurant is very good and courteous.

Reservations are necessary in the evening.
